A challenge for Santa part II

After the rather depressing news yesterday at least we know we've made an effort to help raise awareness of Brain Tumours by signing up for the Santa Fun Run.

And so to the dilemma of how to raise the £500 sponsorship we committed to.  At least this is something I can control the outcome of - this is Kris in organising and planning mode - her natural state of being!

And so it came to me over a quiet pint in the pub, why not hold a "pub quiz"?  All that was needed was a venue, a prize for the winning team and a drinks sponsor to keep everyone happy.  A few calls and favours later,  The Old Bank Hotel, Oxford provided us with the perfect venue and a top raffle prize, Hampers, The Oxford Wine Company  and Said Business School  a befitting festive prize and S H Jones was our much appreciated drinks sponsor.  The support and generosity was truly heart warming.

But that was just the begining.  How would I sell the idea, entice the teams in and ensure that once in the room they emptied their pockets of all their cash?!  What better way than with a red & black festive theme?  Who doesn't love a bit of tinsel, and a mince pie or two washed down by a glass of bucks fizz?  Thanks to the teams and everyone who attended, I think it's fair to say the quiz went down a treat and we were able to raise all the money we needed and then some!  A heartfelt thank you from Matt and me.

Let's hope it makes those 5 km around Greenwich Park in the snow on Sunday a little less chilly!
