Man's best friend

Maintaining a positive attitude is one of the things that helps you defeat tumours like Tommy.  To help Matt stay positive, he's been remembering some of his happiest moments.  I thought this was a great idea and was all for it until he started sharing these moments with me and I realised that I didn't feature at all!!!

One of Matt's fondest memories is of Barney.  Barney wasn't just any old dog, he was a Gordon Setter and everything about him, just like Matt, was exceptional.  Barney was the size of a horse and stubborn as a mule.  He chewed his way through countless socks, pants and stockings (he wasn't fussy) and then farted the most horrendous farts at the most inopportune times.  Barney was a Chadwick through and through!  He also knew where his loyalies lay.  When Matt was walking Barney across the common and had a fit, it was Barney who stood guard over Matt.

Not one to let my man down, I've enlisted the support of the Dog's Trust so we can find a dog for Matt.  Hopefully this time it won't have a sock/pant/stocking fettish and a tendency to fart!  Flossie's my first choice - I can just see Matt walking her!
