The news we didn't want to hear

Until now, visits to the Prof Cruickshank have been a bit of an event in the Chadwick clan.  The Prof is not just the Prof, he's more or less a "god" after he performed the life saving operation on Matt in 1999.  I'm sure Mrs Chadwick snr looks forward to the visits as she fancies the Prof!

However today was slightly different.  After Matt's recent seizures we knew that something wasn't quite right.  It was rather a shock though when the harsh reality was spelt out to us.  The scans show changes in Matt's brain tumour and these can only be explained over time and with more scans and imaging.  There is no clear or definite answer right now, we have to wait for another scan in January 2011 and then a decision will be made as to whether more chemo is needed.

Needless to say, this has rather shaken Matt, also known as "double hard bastard" for his ability to laugh in the face of Tommy the tumour and defy the "you've got 14 months to live" prognosis given to him after his operation in 1999.
