Our second home

Two more weeks before round 4 of chemo and so we're in the feeling better phase.  This, coupled with the Prof's let's crack on attitude has been a great boost to morale.  As a result we actually made it to the cinema the other evening.  After months of saying we'll go, we actually made it out.  Poor Syra was not amused at being left alone after months of having constant company.  Such a teenager!

Matt's hectic social life continues as we headed to our second home for the weekend.  The best thing about our second home is that it comes with a live in family - Albi, a playmate for Syra, two teenagers for entertainment, and drinking buddies and partners in crime, Jim & Debbie.  We arrived Friday evening after spending a very relaxing day at Hampton Court Palace catching up with Rachel and my brother who was over from the States.  No sooner had we arrived at our second home than drinks were in hand and the smell of a bbq cooking wafted through the kitchen window.  Bliss.

Debbie and I, accompanied by the girls, spent the day trying to win our fortunes at Newbury Races.  Despite best efforts and a very complicated and scientific way of picking horses to back, we only managed a second and so the champagne elluded us this time.  The Pimms however went down oh so well as we basked in the sun.  With all the races over we tottered over to watch Jessie J as she gave her final concert of the summer.  It was well worth the acheing feet although next time it's definitely going to be flat sandals all the way!  Jjjj Jessie J!
