Something's gotta give - oops, it just did

There comes a point when everything's stretched too far and something's gotta give.  And it did, last week.

I ran out the door, late for work as usual, jumped in the car and heard the unmistakeable sound of my trousers ripping.  Not a tiny tear, the whole seam.  Thank god I could dash back home, riffle through the wardrobe until I found a pair of reliable stretchy trousers and then race back to the car so I could make it in to work before lunch!  The thought of it happening at work makes my hair stand on end, sends shivers down my spine and has brought to reality the need to retire the lovely slim fitting work outfits for another day.

Syra and I are no longer strutting our stuff on town walks, come rain or snow, we're now doing the early morning shuffle in the park.  I hate to admit it but Syra's making much better progress than I am - she's fit enough to cope with 2 mad dashes around the park.  Next month - we'll both be tearing along the canal but for now, it's slow and steady wins the race!
