Twice in one week!

So, I saw the Queen at Ascot on Ladie's Day on Thursday - resplendent in her lavender outfit and hat, beaming as her horse, Estimate, won the Gold Cup.  I wasn't expecting to see her again the very next day...

It only seemed right that I book the Friday after Ascot Thursday off work.  So pleased I did - had a lovely long weekend with Katy & Blair and family, Kiwi friends living in Windsor.  We spent the day drinking coffee and meandering around the shops.  When Blair finished work around 1730, Katy and I set off for a run in The  Long Walk, just in front of Windsor Castle.

We were running along, slightly red faced, when a cavalcade drove past with none other than the Queen, all dressed in blue, on her way back from Ascot!!!  I gave an ever so sophisticated wave but was totally blanked.  Not happy, especially as she lost me my Ascot winnings.  We bet everything on her other horse, Bold Sniper, to win in the last race of the day and as a result lost everything.  I didn't have an issue about it until she so totally blanked me - she owes me a tenner!
