End of a long week

It's been a week of midnight feasts, or hot chocolate & chatter at 2 am!  Unfortunately that meant that this morning Matt was overtired and had a fit while I was getting ready for work.  While the fit was relatively small, I didn't feel like I could leave him at home by himself for anywhere between 9 and 11 hours again.

Work has been insane.  Last Thursday I was informed that due to expansion in Exec Ed I needed to become a Programme Manager within the custom team.  Totally came from out the blue and cannot get my head around how work has come to this decision - I applied for, and turned down a PM role last September as I felt it wasn't what I wanted to do nor made the most of my skills - I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be able to continue with the innovation work I've been working on for the past couple of years. I'm still waiting for HR to inform me of the reasons behind this decision which has led to even more sleepless nights anxiety and medicinal red wine consumption.

Matt really hasn't had a good week either - no chemo on Monday.  On Tuesday I came home to find Matt had had a wee accident and his mobile phone had got water in it and as a consequence was dead - no more falling asleep to audio books.  We're back up at the QE Hospital on Sunday for his MRI scan.

Looking forward to next week when hopefully things will be brighter.
