A life well loved

I met Matt Chadwick 22 years ago when he fell down the stairs in the Shearbridge pub during my first shift! He was Jim's best mate then and has been ever since. He has been a huge part of our lives, and I can't begin to tell you how much ...we will all miss him - there will always be a huge Jabba shaped hole.... I am so glad that he proved medics wrong when they gave him 18 months to live, the year Lauren was born - to know that he knew and loved both our girls and that they knew that and loved their 'one and only Uncle Matt' back is good. This also meant that Matt had the time to meet and marry Kris Chadwick - thus making her an equally big part of our lives. We have had so many adventures over the years - from to thumbless Russians and christian nuts to Sex Bomb the horse in Dublin's fair city- so many great memories which will always make me laugh out loud! Kris made Matt so very very happy. I can't really express the love, respect and admiration I have for Matt's amazing wife and family - they have been so brave and strong throughout this whole journey - not least in the past few weeks. We are so grateful to them for allowing us to be a part of Matt's last weeks and days - it has felt like a real privilege. I know lots of my friends who didn't know Matt have read this blog, and have commented on how brave and inspirational he was - and he was, right until the very end xxxxxxx
