Breast Cancer Awareness Month

#MyPowerHour photoshoot
October is breast cancer awareness month.  1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.  I never thought it would happen to me, but this year I became one of those 1 in 8 women.  To help raise awareness, I shared my story with Breast Cancer Haven as part of their #MyPowerHour campaign.  Breast Cancer Haven have supported me through my cancer journey, giving me a place to go, restorative complementary treatments such as shiatsu massage and reflexology and workshops such as the Reinventing Your Image with Patrick Swan.

On Sunday 28 October, clocks go back in line with day lights saving and we gain an extra hour.  The lovely people at Breast Cancer Haven have come up with some ingenious ideas on how to spend that extra hour, #MyPowerHour and will send you a fundraising pack to get you started if necessary.

Here's an example of what your donations could provide - a personalised programme of one to one support, complementary treatments, counselling or Welcome Days at the Breast Cancer Havens throughout the UK.
