Long day at Guy's Cancer Centre

Wednesday 30 October was a long day.  I had a double physio session at Guy's Cancer Centre - supposed to be a review following my breast surgery but as the surgery never happened, it turned out to be a review of my knees which have become painful.  I was then scheduled for treatment followed by an appointment at the breast unit, when I was hoping to get a date for surgery.

The verdict from physio is that my knees are sore as the muscles supporting them aren't strong enough, so lots of strengthening work needed.  I had a similar problem when I was training for the marathon, but then it was due to running miles rather than a bit of walking!

I had a couple hours to kill before my treatment so I was able to wonder around Borough Market.  I
turned up early for treatment and let them know I had an appointment at the Breast Unit booked for 1600, which should have been absolutely feasible, however it was a busy day on the chemo ward and there was a 90 mins delay.  My 75 mins treatment then took over 2 hours so I well and truly missed my breast unit appointment.

It turns out the breast unit appointment was an annual review appointment and wasn't with a surgeon so I didn't feel too bad about missing it.  I have an appointment to see the surgeon, Mr Kothari on Friday 13 December.  I'm taking the date as lucky - third time lucky!
