Cancer treatment: round 27, the last for 2019

My cancer treatment:

Since April 2018 I've had 6 rounds of Docetaxel, 17 rounds of Zometa and 27 of Trastuzumab (Herceptin) and Pertuzumab (Perjeta).

Yesterday afternoon I sat in the wipe clean purple arm chair for the last time for 2019.  There was great debate about the date for my next appointment - the admin staff duly booked me in in three weeks time.  When I explained I'd be out the country and my Oncologist, Dr Nathan had agreed I could have a 5 week break, making my next treatment Wednesday 22 January, they said they couldn't do anything, there were no notes on the system.  All I can say is thank god for Alison Prince.  An email to my breast care nurse, Alison and a few minutes later I had a call from her saying Dr Nathan had left notes on the system, Wednesday 22 January was the correct date for treatment.  After much discussion, it was confirmed, treatment could be moved, my next date with the wipe clean purple chair would indeed be Wednesday 22 January 2020.

This morning I have a routine CT scan for the bone cancer in my spine and hips/pelvis.  I'll get the results from the scan at my next Oncology appointment which is on Monday 3 February.  My Oncology appointments are now every 3 months, which I guess is a good thing but it's not great psychologically.  There's something comforting about being able to share your ailments with someone every three weeks.  It's amazing how quickly a cough can become pneumonia in your head!
